SPEECH THERAPY (ST)
Speech Therapy (in-person/ teletherapy) is a clinical program aimed at improving speech and communication skills. It addresses a variety of speech and language disorders, such as articulation, fluency, voice, and receptive and expressive language disorders. Speech Therapist work with individuals of all ages to help them develop and enhance their communication abilities. Therapy can include exercises to strengthen muscles used in speech, improve coordination, and work on language comprehension and production.
In our ST program, we cover various components across different areas. We focus on vocabulary, grammar, sentence structure, and writing skills, following instructions, understanding “Wh-” questions, and enhancing reading skills. Pragmatics addresses social use of language, like requesting and turn-taking. Therapy also works on oral motor skills, speech intelligibility, and sound inventory. Fluency targets stuttering behaviors and severity, while voice therapy involves auditory and acoustic analysis of voice quality.
